History
A brief history of our universe:
- Pre-2006: Terry Hackett taught engineering, ran TSA.
- 2005-2006: Mr. Ames hosts the Engineering Club, Charles Guan ('07, MIT '11) and Scott Oliveira ('07, GaTech '11) organize our inaugural FIRST robotics team, #1771. A good rookie year.
- 2006-2007: More money, more experience, better results in FIRST robotics.
- 2007-2008: With great mentors (Martin Wilson from Meggitt Training Systems, Jon Spencer from Cisco), college advisors, and a lot more money, we make serious runs in the playoffs, and win some "bling":
- 2008 Delphi "Innovative Technology" Award at FIRST Peachtree Regional
- 2008 Xerox "Creative Design" Award at FIRST World Championships
- May 2008: win Excite Award from Lemelson-MIT InvenTeams.
- Fall 2008: begin a great year with study groups and other programs, on our way to becoming a great place to learn.
